When I was a teenager, I was faced with some serious weight problems due to heavy treatment for asthma. The side effects had a huge influence on my weight gain. After I graduated from high school, I decided to go on a strict diet and I was able to lose 66 pounds in six months, which isn’t really recommended, to tell you the truth.

I spent a long time looking for a physical activity that would help me maintain my new physique, from basketball to volleyball, without much conviction. I then turned to individual sports. I preferred running, which I did when I was in college and even during my study abroad program in Shanghai, where I had a lot of free time.

So I set a goal for myself to get back a firm and toned body, because running has never helped me sculpt it overall. I designed my own workout schedule with strength training exercises paired with running. This activity helped me stay in shape and kill time, but without any real guidance or many results. I stayed physically active more or less, but I quickly felt the need to go further when I came back to my home country. That’s when I stumbled upon an ad for FizzUp, which I hadn’t heard of yet. I’m now able to gradually leave behind the physique of the teenager I once had. As a side story, one day during a sale, I bought two shirts in my usual size without trying them on. It wasn’t until I got home that I realized that I should have bought the bigger size. In fact, for the first time in my life, I was confronted with the problem of having pecs that were too big for the shirt. The workouts are pretty short and I can make them longer or shorter depending on my schedule using the Add-ons*. When I don’t have much time, I just do the strength training exercises to keep working out on time and stay in shape.

Each day before my workout, I try to determine how much time I’ll have the next day to do it so that I can keep up with my busy lifestyle. I choose the days when I’ll do my workout and the exercises I’ll do depending on the days I work or have class. Do I do my workout every day? No; I also make sure to have a day to recover between workouts, which is good for my muscles and my mind! FizzUp is a time to have fun, not a hassle or an obsession. Knowing that I have a rest day really motivates me to do my workout two days later.

When I miss a workout, I make time in my schedule to do an entire workout the next day so that I keep up my Rhythm score. But I have to admit, I’m hooked on the Focus programs*… Ever since they came out, I can’t pass them up. Oh well. I’ll go to bed earlier so that I can get up earlier!
